‘A tribute to things that fall apart’

My art is an intricate dance between creation and decay, rooted in a deep exploration of materials. I began my artistic journey with drawing as my sole discipline, but in recent years, I’ve shifted my focus to working with natural materials like river clay and wood, as well as discarded materials such as scrap metal and plastic bottles to make spatial work.

I often create art on location, using materials I find in the direct surroundings. The unpredictability of these materials, coupled with the elements themselves, forces me to embrace imperfections and adapt my creative process on the fly.

Yet, it’s the juxtaposition of these natural elements with discarded materials that adds depth to my work. By integrating for example scrap metal and plastic bottles, I explore our human impulse to control and contain natural processes, highlighting the tension between the organic and the
man-made.

Through my art, I encourage viewers to contemplate the fragility of life and our shared fear of mortality as well as celebrating the magical creation of beings and matter. In absence of religion and tradition I desire some sort of ritual to process these feelings but cherish them as well.
With this in mind, I create shrines and relics that I can work on with outmost dedication to pay my respects to life and give these existential feelings a place to rest.

In a world often driven by consumption and disposability, my art challenges viewers to reconsider their relationship with materials, nature, and ultimately, their own mortality, inviting them to find beauty and meaning in the fragile balance between creation and decay.
